Professor Pauline Heslop - Programme Lead

Pauline is a Professor of Intellectual Disabilities Research. She is a qualified nurse by background. Since working at the Norah Fry Centre for Disability Studies, Pauline has completed research into a range of health in people and care-related issues. She led the Confidential Inquiry into premature deaths of people with learning disabilities (CIPOLD) from 2010-2013, which identified potentially modifiable factors associated with premature deaths in people with learning disabilities.

Paul Hazell - Programme Manager

Paul is a creative and flexible programme manager and team leader with 20 years’ experience at HEFCE, QAA and the University of Bristol. Paul plans work and resources, identifies and solve risks and is the point of contact for key stakeholders.

Dr Avon Huxor - Research Associate

Avon is a data scientist and responsible for creating and adapting coding tools for use in data analysis and coding. Data will be drawn from electronic or paper-based reports about deaths of people with learning disabilities.

Dr Vicky Byrne – Research Associate

Vicky has a background in supporting people with learning disabilities and conducting research about the marginalisation experienced by people with learning disabilities.
She provides research-related support for the LeDeR programme which includes undertaking secondary research, carrying out systematic reviews, assisting in the writing of briefing papers and journal articles about the findings of the programme.

Brian Sullivan - Research Associate

Brian has a background in experimental psychology research, he acts as a data scientist and is responsible for creating and adapting coding tools for use in data analysis and coding. He helps draw data from electronic or paper-based reports about deaths of people with learning disabilities.

Rachel Calkin – Data Analyst

With a background in social science research and evaluation, Rachel is responsible for much of the reporting and data analysis requirements of the programme.
She works closely with other members of the data team to create reports for a range of audiences.

Kate Rowley, Senior Programme Administrator

Kate works together with the Programme Administrator and WBP Senior Admin to provide excellent administrative support to the team ensuring that the programme can run efficiently and effectively.

Elena Vergara - Programme Administrator

Working closely with the senior programme administrator, Elena supports the programme team and deals with enquiries about e-learning and the LeDeR Review System.

Dave Hanford - Information Officer (Easy Read)

Dave is an Information Officer for the LeDeR Programme. He produces easy-read information. He helps make it easy for people with a learning disability and their family and friends get the help they need to get the best health care. Dave works one day per week, on Tuesdays.

Peter Daly - Senior Administrator (Web Based Platform)

Peter initially joined the team as a frontline administrator taking telephone notifications and assisting reviewers with enquiries. As WBP Senior Administrator he is now liaising closely with partners to support the smooth transfer of the programme's secure records system at the end of the current contract.
