Study information for students in participating schools
What is the study about?
The aim of our study is to look at how to improve the wellbeing of teachers and students in secondary schools, to make them better places for everybody. Your school is one of 25 that are taking part in the study.
Who is running the study?
The study is being run by the Universities of Bristol and Cardiff.
What is ‘wellbeing’?
Wellbeing means feeling healthy and happy in your day to day life.
What are students being asked to do?
We have already asked all the students who were in year 8 in the summer of 2016 to fill in a short questionnaire about their experiences of wellbeing at school. Maybe you remember filling one in! We will be asking those same students when they are in year 10 to fill in the same questionnaire. It should only take about 30 minutes to complete. The aim of the questionnaire is to help us to understand more about the wellbeing of students in your school. It ask questions about how students are feeling and how they feel about your school and teachers. We are also asking all the teachers in the schools to fill in a similar questionnaire. In a small number of schools we will hold discussion groups with some students to ask them about their school.
