What is Clearing?

Clearing is a UCAS service you can use to find and apply for undergraduate courses with vacancies. From 5 July 2017, it is the only way to apply for an undergraduate course starting in 2017.

Who can apply for Clearing?

UK, EU and international students can apply for Clearing, usually after you have your exam results.

You can apply through Clearing if you are not holding any offers because:

  • You are applying after 30 June 2017
  • You haven't received any offers
  • You declined your offers
  • You didn't meet the conditions of your offers.

Find out more about Clearing on the UCAS website.

Apply through UCAS

If you have not registered yet or applied previously through the Common Application you must register with UCAS.

If you have already registered with UCAS and are eligible for Clearing, UCAS will automatically enter you into Clearing and your UCAS Track status will update to 'You are in Clearing' or 'Clearing has started'.

Choose a course

  1. Search our clearing vacancies lists - home/EU or international.
  2. If you find a course that interests you, read the course information.
  3. Contact us to make an application.
  4. If we can offer you a place on the course you apply through UCAS Track.

Once your place is confirmed by UCAS, you can apply for accommodation via our website. We will do our best to offer accommodation to all applicants.
