The farmers’ market is a great way of putting the ‘healthy university’ concept into practice. It’s also a great example of what can happen when different groups from across the University come together around a common goal.
“The farmers’ market is a great way of putting the ‘healthy university’ concept into practice,” said Karen Harvey, Healthy Lifestyles Manager. “It’s also a great example of what can happen when different groups from across the University come together around a common goal.”
Open to all, the market sells a range of produce from pies and pasties, jams and chutneys, cakes and biscuits, fish, locally produced cheeses and meat, as well as the usual organic fruit and vegetables. It is going to take place on a monthly basis, so get your shopping bags at the ready!
Please contact The Public Engagement Officer for further information.
Contact Karen Harvey, Healthy Lifestyles Manager at karen.harvey@bristol.ac.uk and Sophie Hewitt, BUST president, at sh5000@bris.ac.uk. The market will take place on the second Tuesday of each month (excluding August and January) just outside the University’s Centre for Sport, Exercise and Health on Tyndall Avenue. Further information is available on the Centre's website.
