Each case study in this collection of stories has been classified regarding the type of engagement that it typifies. In some instances, a story may illustrate more than one key word or 'category'. We have tried to define each of these key words so that you can find the exact type of story that you're looking for.
Working with the potential users of the research, to generate ideas and research strategies together
Research that contributes to national or local debates, or that helps policy makers deal with the concerns of society
Providing opportunities for students to tackle real life situations as part of their degree courses
Disseminating research findings through TV, radio, electronic or print media
Using interactive exhibits as a way of engaging the public with research
