The School of Physiology and Pharmacology encompasses internationally recognised research groups whose interests extend from the cell to the whole animal, ranging from cell signalling and neuropharmacology to cardiovascular/respiratory function and the study of sensory and sensorimotor systems in the intact brain.
Working collaboratively within the school and with colleagues in the UK and abroad, we use our expertise to investigate how cells and organisms function and how we might modulate their function to improve health. All staff also contribute to our high quality undergraduate teaching in B.Sc. programmes in Pharmacology, Physiological Sciences and Neuroscience, as well as to the professional medical, dental and veterinary science degree programmes.
The School of Physiology and Pharmacology actively supports and encourages work experience placements. Such placements will be allocated to those students who have a genuine interest in gaining experience of working in a laboratory environment. Placements are scheduled for a maximum of 6 students (in pairs) in May, June or July.
If you would like to be considered for a work experience placement then please download and complete an application form [Word 57 KB], and return to Debbie Martin, Senior Teaching & Research Technician and Departmental Safety Advisor, School of Physiology & Pharmacology, Medical Sciences Building, University Walk, Bristol BS8 1TD. The closing date for receipt of applications is the end of February.
