Neural Dynamics Forum
The Neural Dynamics Forum is a seminar series where researchers from Bristol and elsewhere discuss their current research and open problems related to mathematical or computational methods and neuroscience. To encourage informal discussion speakers are told to limit their talks to three slides, not all speakers obey, but the forum has succeeded in having a lively atmosphere with frequent questions and friendly debate. The Forum is organized by the Neural Dynamics program, but lots of other people attend and all are welcome.
The Neural Dynamics program has a weekly tutorial / journal club; this is an opportunity for us to get together, discuss papers, practise presenting, report on any recent conferences any of have attended and to hold careers sessions. Most laboratories will also have their own journal clubs or laboratory meetings, this is an additional Neural Dynamics activity for students and staff involved in the program.
Neural Dynamics Away Days
We have annual away days, an opportunity to talk about our work and practice presentation skill; we alternate between a local one day event and a two day residential event. The programme for the 2018 retreat is here: 2018 retreat programme (PDF, 8,700kB)
We run an annual undergraduate summer school: TRENDS
