John O'Hara

John is a Graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music with Ian Wright, Graham Johns, Heather Corbett and Dave Hassle as his tutors.
He was the resident Composer/Musical Director at the Bristol Old Vic for over a decade. John has composed four operas for WNO MAX: ‘The Boy Who Went To The West Wind’ was performed by WNO in Washington, DC, and ‘The Merman King’ has been made into a short film. “I had An Angel” is an operatic film. Three Choirs Festival 2013 performed two works: "The Bargee's Wife", and a song cycle, "I Can Hear You Waiting".
He plays piano/hammond and accordion in the rock band Jethro Tull, and orchestrates/conducts orchestral concerts.
