Verdon-Smith International Seminar Room

The Verdon-Smith International Seminar Room is managed by the International Research Development team as a resource for International visitors. The room is located in Royal Fort House, an eighteeth-century Grade 1 listed building in Royal Fort Gardens. The Verdon-Smith International Seminar Room boasts modern AV facilities including a smartboard, and can host up to 20 delegates.

The IRD team recognise that a range of colleagues across the University may be interested in using this room for hybrid, international activities. Building access is by Staff UCard and limited to 9am-5pm. Please check the access you require and email ird-office@bristol.ac.uk to discuss.

PC and HDMI cable for laptops linked to smartboard, webcam, speakers and microphone, can accommodate hybrid meetings.

Allowed - Catering must be cleared away using bins provided (do not leave in corridor). Leave anything for collection underneath the stairs on the ground floor by the staff lounge entry point to the building.

Royal Fort House is primarily a staff only space, teaching-type activity should be conducted in one of the University's central teaching spaces.

Only booking requests received and approved via this process will be confirmed. A member of the team will provide confirmation via email, and will add an appointment to the lead organiser’s calendar - this will contain important information regarding the conditions of use so you must read this carefully. Your booking is not confirmed until you receive this. Do not attempt to book the Verdon Smith via Outlook calendar, as these booking requests are not valid.

Please note, if we receive a priority request for an internationally focused activity at least four weeks before your booking, we may ask you to move your booking.
