IAS Research Fellowships (IASRFs)

IAS Research Fellowships (IASRFs) are available, on the same basis pro rata as the URF scheme, for up to six months' dedicated research pertaining to the IAS's current theme for 2016-19, Diversity.  These awards provide £5,000 towards the costs of replacement teaching, assessment and clinical duties.

Award holders may work on substantive exemplifications of the theme drawn from their own particular fields of study, but they are also expected to develop the overarching concepts and issues in an interdisciplinary manner.  It is anticipated that successful applicants will have regular interaction with the IAS and help to develop IAS activities around their project.

The IAS annual theme brings researchers together from across the University, to develop critical mass, nurture collaborations and lay the groundwork for future funding bids.

Faculties will set their own internal deadlines for the receipt of nomination forms.  Please check with your Faculty Office for details.

Nomination forms, rankings and comments to be submitted by Deans and FRDs to the IAS by Friday 16 February 2018.

Unlike URF nominations which will now be awarded by Faculties, the IASRFs will be awarded by the University Research Committee (URC).
