profile image of Professor Iain AndersonIain Anderson is an Associate Professor at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, the institution from which he has also been awarded his BE and ME.

He is a foundation member of the Auckland Bioengineering Institute in 2002, where he now conducts his research. His interest in artificial muscles led to the formation of the Institute’s Biomimetics Laboratory in 2006. His research interests include the control and self-sensing of artificial muscles and artificial muscle energy harvesting.

He will be working with Dr. Jonathan Rossiter of the Department of Engineering Mathematics on Soft and Sensitive Robots.
