Later Life Migration: challenges for policy and practice

6 February 2018, 11.00 AM - 6 February 2018, 12.00 PM

IAS Benjamin Meaker Visiting Professor Hong-Jae Park

Room G4/5 10 Woodland Road

Dr Hong-Jae Park is a Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences and Psychology at the University of Western Sydney, Australia.

In this seminar, Dr Park will focus on the policy implications of recent research findings concerning migration and later life. It will be of interest to a range of staff members and postgraduate students within the School, including researchers in ageing; in housing, health and social care in later life; in migration and in family life. Dr Park’s findings on filial piety in South Korea touch- upon key issues of direct relevance to policy studies in the UK, not least of which is the question of who bears responsibility for those older people who require care and support.

This event is open to staff and research postgraduates of the School for Policy Studies.
