Safe Trustworthy Autonomous Assistive Robots (STAARs) Workshop

Safe Trustworthy Autonomous Assistive Robots (STAARs) Workshop

12:30 - 17:00, Room 2.19a, Merchant Venturers Building, Woodland Road, Bristol BS8 1UB

Objectives:
The objectives of the STAARs workshops are to establish new collaborations and to shape an interdisciplinary research agenda that addresses the ethical, societal, legal and engineering challenges in developing autonomous assistive robots. This first workshop is focused on understanding the state of the art and on collecting an initial set of Intellectual Challenges.

The STAARS workshops bring together a set of researchers from diverse backgrounds with a common interest in robotics. Participation at these workshops is expected to spark a major new initiative on Safe and Trustworthy Autonomous Assistive Robots at the University of Bristol and beyond.

Because FIRA-TAROS 2012 is hosted at Bristol this year there is the option of holding a special session at FIRA on STAARs topics. The first STAARs workshop will investigate topics to be included and areas to be addressed by a set of papers for this special session.

Please note that places are limited and refreshments/lunch can only be provided for registered attendees. Registration will close 2 days before the STAARs Workshop. Please register asap. Thank you.
