Research Workshop at the Interface of Biochemistry and Chemistry

Postdoctoral Research Workshop

9:30 am – 5.15 pm (followed by a wine reception), LT2 (and foyer) School of Chemistry

PIs, PDRAs and postgraduates are all welcome.

This one day cross-faculty workshop will feature short presentations from early career researchers, group discussions and poster sessions on a range of topics at the interface of biochemistry and chemistry. Topics include peptide design, macromolecular X-ray crystallography, biosynthesis, enzyme dynamics and catalysis, biomaterials, electron microscopy and biological NMR spectroscopy. The aims of the workshop are to: 1) Provide a platform for early career researchers to present their work to a wide audience; 2) Establish and strengthen links between researchers across departments and faculties; 3) Promote discipline hopping and knowledge transfer; 4) Widen the use of existing facilities.

The talks will be introductory level in order to make the workshop accessible to all attendees.
Presentations will be open ended with a focus on future directions and how interdepartmental collaboration can play a role.
Lunch is included for all registered participants.
