Use of translation dictionaries in examinations

Some schools/departments allow some students, whose first language is not English, to use a translation dictionary in examinations.  Specific permission must be given by the Head of School/Department (or their nominee) to allow the use of a translation dictionary. The use of electronic translation devices is not permitted in any examination. Any authorisation for the use of a translation dictionary must be confirmed using the Authorisation for the use a of translation dictionary in examinations form. The form must be displayed on the examination desk during all examinations for which permission to use a translation dictionary has been granted.  Any student using a translation dictionary who does not display the authorisation on their examination desk will have the material confiscated and a report will be sent to the school/department.  If you have any queries about the process for authorisation of the use of translation dictionaries in examinations please contact exams-office@bristol.ac.uk.
