Cadence Academic Network Lead Institution Member in “Advanced Verification Methodology”

The University of Bristol has been a Cadence Academic Network Lead Institution Member in “Advanced Verification Methodology” since 2007.

Introduction

‌The Cadence Academic Network was launched in 2007 by Cadence EMEA. The aim is to promote the proliferation of leading-edge technologies and methodologies at universities renowned for their engineering and design excellence. The initiative offers a knowledge network among selected universities, research institutes, industry advisors and Cadence to facilitate the sharing of technology expertise in the areas of verification, design and implementation of microelectronic systems.

The Academic Network became an integral part of CDNLive! where universities and industry members are offered a knowledge exchange platform to demonstrate scientific achievements, present ideas and establish further collaborations.

The Cadence Academic Network manages a page for discussion and opportunities on LinedIn. Further information on the University Program can also be found on
the Cadence Academic Network webpage.‌

Teaching

Design Verification is a teaching unit that familiarises students with the state of the art in design verification and gives them the technical background plus some of the practical skills expected from a professional design verification engineer. Most of the unit materials are online at https://uobdv.github.io/Design-Verification. In the Design Verification labs students use professional EDA tools including Cadence* tools for simulation-based and for formal verification.
