Writing an effective EngD thesis: Understanding the soft systems aspects within a hard systems project
....So for example, it might be thought too narrow if you were writing up a project that called for the "Cost effective design and implementation of an efficient new LFW system across RR global operations" and you didn't consider the operational costs, cultural differences of operators, maintainability, operating procedures, training, etc. and focused only a new Matlab routine and user guide. It will also be possible to cover the issue of rigorous research and design methodologies applied to hard systems engineering.
