Adnane Ez-Zizi and Benja Fallenstein recently travelled to Lancaster to attend a masterclass on Optimal Decisions for Stochastic Systems over Time taught by Richard Weber (Cambridge), a leading figure in Operational Research. The two-day course gathered 30 students and postdocs from a variety of different disciplines. Adnane and Benja share some impressions from their trip.

Kevin Lloyd's paper, with David Leslie, on context-dependent decision-making has been accepted to be published in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface. The paper presents a simple Bayesian clustering model which demonstrates several of the 'paradoxical' effects seen in animal learning
