Although the School of Biochemistry does not offer a taught MSc course, it is a key partner in the University's MSc in Biomedical Science Research. This course brings together teaching from all five Schools within Medical Sciences to deliver a thorough training in key aspects of biomedical experimental research techniques.
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in a related subject, with at least a 2:2 grade (with preference for a 2:1 or 1st class grade) and evidence of practical ability.
Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to satisfy the Faculty of their proficiency in English. This is preferred to be a minimum overall score of 7.0 (with at least 6.5 in each band) in the British Council IELTS test. However, a minimum overall score of 640 (or 273 in the computer test) in the TOEFL examination, to include a score of 5 or above in the test of Written English will also be considered. Test scores must be less than two years old. If you have studied at a UK University for a minimum of two years, this would normally satisfy the English Language requirement.
