Welcome to the Gaston Group websiteThe group, headed by Dr Kevin Gaston, is principally interested in the regulation of gene expression and the effects that this has on cell fate. The first step in gene expression is often the binding of protein transcription factors to specific sites in DNA, and it is in this area that much of our research is focused. Two DNA-binding proteins in which we are particularly interested are the Papillomavirus E2 protein and the Homeodomain protein PRH. Please see our Research page for more information The lab is based in the DNA-Protein Interactions Laboratory of the University of Bristol Department of Biochemistry. For information about the host organisation please see our Collaborators page, or alternatively visit the Department of Biochemistry site |
