We are recruiting telephone fundraisers for our autumn 2017 campaign. You will find a link to the application form below – read on to find out more about what's involved.

  • actively involved with and enjoying university life so far, or a first year keen to get more involved?

As a Telephone Fundraiser, your role is to ask Bristol graduates for charitable donations towards the University. You will also inform them about what is currently happening at Bristol and answer any queries they may have. Being a Telephone Fundraiser requires fluent English. If you are looking for employment to improve your English language skills, please contact the Careers Service who may be able to offer suitable alternatives for you.

Working hours and pay

The autumn 2017 campaign runs from the 30th October to the 7th December during the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday 6 pm to 9 pm 
  • Saturday 11 am to 2 pm and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm
  • Sunday 5 pm to 8 pm  

You will be paid £8.13 per hour. All students are paid on a monthly basis on the 26 of the month, or on the previous working day if that falls on a weekend/bank holiday. Callers are required to work an average of three shifts per week. 

There are three campaigns a year, timed to coincide with the university term:

  • Autumn – 30 October to 7 December 2017
  • Spring – 5 February to 18 March 2018
  • Summer – 16 April to 13 May 2018

As a Telephone Fundraiser, you will:

  • Be able to use your experience to count towards your Bristol PLuS award as we have a minimum of 54 hours of work available per term.

How to apply

Application forms are now available via this webpage. The deadline for applications will be midnight on Sunday 1 October and interviews will take place on 11, 12 and 13 October. If you are unable to attend an interview on the dates we advertise, we will not be able to consider your application. Your application will be acknowledged by email within three days of its submission. 

It is a condition of employment that all successful applicants attend the training sessions which take place in the week before calling starts. The 2017/18 campaign group training sessions will be on 24 and 25 October, 6 pm to 9 pm. Applicants must also attend the software training session which will take place on 26 and 28 October.
