What is swarm robotics, and how can it benefit people? And how do we push robotic capabilities, while keeping them safe and trustworthy?

From nanorobots used for cancer treatments, to larger robots used for environmental monitoring, swarm robotics are becoming increasingly prominent. Join us for a fascinating insight into the latest developments in the field with Professor Sabine Hauert in an online lecture ‘Swarms for People’ on Tuesday 14 December, 12.30 – 1.30 pm GMT.

Sabine Hauert is Associate Professor (Reader) of Swarm Engineering at the University of Bristol, leading a team of 15+ researchers working on swarm robotics, a new approach to coordinate the behaviours of a large number of simple robots. A partnership between the University of Bristol and the University of West England, the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL), is a world leading facility for multi-disciplinary robotics research, and the leading and largest academic center for robotics research in the UK.

The last event in our 2021 programme, this online lecture gives alumni an exclusive insight into some of the University’s cutting-edge research.
