I have been working on quantum optics in solid state for 9 years, and received my master's degree from the University of Science and Technology, Beijing, working on the synthesis of high-purity diamond and characterization of optical and electronic effects from its defects. I then joined the Institute of Physics, Chinese Science Academy, focusing on quantum sensing based on negatively charged nitrogen vacancy in diamond, where I greatly enhanced my experience in quantum spin control technology and dense solid physics. I came to Cardiff to pursue my PhD as an early-stage researcher in a Marie Curie project and my first postdoc, devoting myself to femtosecond laser writing quantum emitters in diamond and nitride semiconductors. Thanks to these experiences, I have been working closely with a lot of brilliant researchers in Milan and Ulm. In QET Labs, I will work on a hybrid quantum memory between quantum emitters in solid state (such as molecule emitters and color centre in semiconductors) and atoms. I am looking forward to seeing what's next.
