I am Deputy Language Director for Italian. I design, shape and coordinate language units on both the BA and the UWLP programmes, including the Study abroad Programme.

I am the founder of the 'Year Abroad on Stage', the 'SML Quiz' and other projects facilitating community-building within the School of Modern Languages.

As Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and CREATE assessor I am committed to enhancing the quality of education and to promoting PDP opportunities.

In service to the wider academic community, I evaluate publishing projects as well as applications for funded doctoral research projects in my field. 

I am passionate about equal access and contribute actively to the implementation of the university's Widening Participation strategy.

Research

I carry out research in the field of creative pedagogy, language acquisition and intercultural communication. My scholarly activity is informed by a firm belief in an evidence-based approach to teaching and self-reflection.

As a LanGW4 co-director I promote language teaching innovation in Higher Education and encourage cross-language collaboration amongst language teachers from the universities of Bristol, Bath, Cardiff and Exeter.  

I am a Registered European Commission expert in the fields of Education and Learning of Languages, EU Intercultural Dialogues Studies, Foreign Languages and Cultures.
