Research interests
My primary research investigates the factors controlling precipitation and diagenesis within the Early Cretaceous lacustrine carbonates of the pre-salt Barra-Velha Formation, Santos Basin, Brazil, through hydrologic and geochemical modelling at a range of scales, from 1D geochemical and reactive transport models to 3D lake circulation and forward stratigraphic models.
I am also involved in modelling and field-based projects on the hydrochemistry, hydrology, and geology of tufa streams across the UK, hydromagnesite playas in British Columbia, coastal sabkha hardgrounds in Abu Dhabi, modern karst hydrology in the Bahamas, and paleokarst breccias in Svalbard.
