Biography
I studied microbial ecology and received my doctorate from the University of Hannover, Germany, for a thesis on microbial nitrous oxide emissions in permafrost-affected peatlands. Afterwards, I worked as a postdoc on the bioleaching of laterite ores using acidophiles at the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) in Hannover, Germany. In August 2024, I moved to Bristol to start work on iron biogeobatteries at the University of Bristol.
