Biography
Samuel is a Research Associate in the School of Earth Sciences with research interests across volcanology, fluid dynamics, and oceanography. He obtained an M.Sci in Geology (2015) from the University of Bristol and a Ph.D in Geology and Geophysics (2018) from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
He has also worked as an outreach coordinator for at-sea research expeditions, geology guide in polar regions and on expedition vessels, a science consultant for natural history documentaries, and a guest lecturer and tutor of geology. Outside of academia, Samuel is a keen science communicator, aiming to improve access, diversity and inclusivity throughout the earth and ocean sciences.
