Research interests
I am a consultant paediatric neurologist at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, having undertaken extensive training in paediatric neurology and movement disorders in Bristol and Great Ormond Street Hospital. My clinical work focusses on complex movement disorders including advanced therapies for tone disorders like cerebral palsy, and complex epilepsy.
I am a clinician scientist having completed a PhD at UCL in precision therapies with clinical trial and advanced therapeutics expertise. This built on early research experience at the University of Bristol in the Stem Cells and Neuroregeneration group with Prof Uney, Prof Heep and Dr Cordero-Llana. My active research work is primarily clinical, focussing on clinical trials and rare disease in movement disorders and paediatric neurology.
Since 2016 I have enjoyed being a professional mentor to medical students at the University of Bristol.
