Research interests
Dr Patrick Moore is a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics at Health Economics and Health Policy (HEHP@Bristol). He is interested in economic evaluation, ageing, health policy, healthcare utilisation and decision making. His research focuses on applying economic theories and methods to a variety of applied health research problems and the economic evaluation of clinical trials. He has previously held posts and at the University of Birmingham, the Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (TILDA), and the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA Ireland).
Patrick undertook his PhD at Trinity College Dublin, graduating in 2015. His PhD explored the relationships between expenditures on medications with morbidity and mortality, with the aim of improving expenditure prediction models. He published three papers using evidence from Ireland and New Zealand to disseminate his PhD findings.
Patrick is currently the Health Economics Lead on a number of clinical trials as well as being the health economist on various Trial Steering Committees.
