Ngozi Nwebonyi is a University of Brisol Postgraduate Research Scholar (PhD) at the Bristol Medical School. She is working with PPI (Patient and public Involvement) groups to develop interventions for dislocation after total hip replacement. This project is part of the Bristol BRC Surgical Orthopaedics Innovation theme on co-developing interventions to improve patient care and outcomes after surgical procedures.

Before starting her PhD, Ngozi worked as a Research Assistant at the Ethox Centre for Bioethics Research, University of Oxford. During this time, She worked on the Future Targeted Healthcare Manufacturing (FTHM) hub's ethics feasibility project which aims to scope the tendencies of bias in AI-driven precision medicine manufacturing. 

Ngozi graduated from the University of Porto, Portugal with an MPH (Masters in Public Health). She was a member of the Scientific Reviewing Committee at the Institute of Public Health, University of Porto (ISPUP). Her master's research focused on Public and Patients Involvement (PPI) in health data governance for rare disease research and care. She worked as a Research Investigator under a Portuguese project called DATAGov  to develop her thesis. Ngozi also has BSc in Biomedical Sciences (Medical Laboratory Science) from Nigeria.

Her research Interests are in developing interventions to improve health outcomes, Health promotion, Ethics of AI in healthcare, Public Health, and Patients and Public Involvement (PPI).

Beyond her academics, Ngozi also volunteers (part time) with a non-profit organization (Kachem Young Initiatives - KYI) as Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) team Lead, where she coordinates the development of project/program objectives, pre- and post-event data collection and interpretation, as well as report writing. She occassionally consults with this organisation to develop plans and programs for promoting disability inclusion of women and girls, as well as eradication of gender-based violence across communities and crises/war prone areas in Nigeria.
