Biography
Dr Ezzi is a Clinical Lecturer in the Restorative Dentistry Department and a researcher in Clinical and Diagnostic Oral Sciences. She received her dental training initially in Iraq and continued her professional development at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She was awarded funding to pursue an MSc in Dental Public Health, followed by a second scholarship to complete her PhD at Queen Mary University of London. Minan brings together extensive research expertise with a strong passion for teaching. She has delivered lectures both nationally and internationally in the field of clinical dentistry and has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications. She also serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for several reputable scientific journals. Her academic portfolio includes supervising numerous MSc dissertations and delivering lectures on topics such as Preventive Dentistry, Statistics, Research methodology, Evidence-based Dentistry and Salivary Gland Diseases. Her MSc clinical trial explored the antimicrobial properties of tea extract in the prevention of dental caries. Her PhD research focused on assessing quality of life in patients with Sjögren’s Disease, particularly examining the impact on the senses of smell and taste, sexual function, and overall well-being. Her work was recognized with a research award at the British Sjögren’s Syndrome Association Annual Meeting in Swindon, UK. Minan's research interests include Cariology and Periodontology, with a primary research focus on patient-reported outcomes, quality of life, and mental health and well-being.
