Research interests
I am a member of the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) within the Applied Clinical and Materials Sciences Research Program based at Bristol Dental Hospital. The CTU carries out both lab based hard tissue research as well as running clinical trials to determine the efficacy of dental treatments that aim to reduce dentine hypersensitivity and/or erosion. I am involved in both lab based research as well as protocol development, trial preparation, and co-ordinating clinical trials while they are running. The CTU is also involved in studies to examine the prevention of plaque and gingivitis, the treatment of diseases of the periodontium, and soft and hard tissue regeneration in periodontology and implantology. This area of research is new to me, but with my background in cell biology is one that I will be involved in in the future.
