Research interests
Margaret has a research interest in Post-conflict Intervention Programmes, particularly in the Disarmament, Demobilisation, and Reintegration (DDR) process. Had ten years of DDR working experience in Nigeria with the Presidential Amnesty Programme for the Niger Delta Ex-militants. Possess skills and knowledge on Children Associated with Armed Conflicts and Armed Forces (CAAFAG). Conducted post-conflict qualitative interviews with 52 former child soldiers (including 13 girls), 9 ex-combatants (2 women), and 13 community members across Nigerian communities.
Investigating the practical and theoretical implications of "Everyday Peace" in post-conflict settings. Explores how Ethnic Politics influence marginalised Child soldiers in Nigeria in accessing benefits and opportunities within the informal sphere, since marginalisation renders them invisible to state protection services.
