Biography
Lucy works to oversee the work of the Bristol Doctoral College and collaboratively develop a new Postgraduate Research Strategy for the University. Prior to this she worked as a Strategy and Development Manager in Research Development, working with colleagues in the Faculty of Social Science and Law to develop new funding applications and inform research strategy.
Before starting at the University, Lucy worked at the UK Research Councils for over 12 years (Arts and Humanities Research Council and Natural Environment Research Council). She covered a broad range of roles including policy development, running the first block grant funding for AHRC studentships; initiating, and delivering inter-disciplinary strategic research programmes; and peer review of fellowships and grants. Lucy’s last role at AHRC was European Strategy Manager, where she led the AHRCs representation on several key international projects including the HERA (Humanities in the European Research Area) network and funding activities.
Lucy also has experience working in the charitable sustainable development sector, including running stakeholder dialogue projects around Environmental issues.
