Biography
I am currently working to support academics in Social Sciences and Law and Arts faculties achieve impact at scale. I look to make connections for them with business and social enterprise and networks that support them as we seek to accelerate the growth of these exciting and impactful projects. We support the projects with training and profile raising. And we work with a network of universities to support the increase of commercialisation in social sciences and arts (SHAPE) disciplines.
I had been working to support SMEs, large corporates and the third sector to engage and network at Engine Shed by Temple Meads including running large events. Alongside creating an education program that supported 7-15 year olds to visit an inspiring workplace and meet tech entrepreneurs. I ran the conference facilities and coworking space and managed marketing and publicity including hosting high profile visitors from business, Government and royalty.
Prior to this I ran the undergraduate opne days for the University of Bristol, 3 events a year for 15,000 visitors each, plus campus tours and setting up our first app, a walking tour of the university. I also managed our presence at UCAS fairs across the UK and gave talks to prospective applicants and their carers.
I have also worked in mental health, supporting events for service users and professionals across the South West and in Further Education marketing, organising graduation ceremonies, open days and official openings of new facilities as well as managing prospectus creation and online marketing.
I am an Enterprise Adviser for St Brendan's Sixth Form College and work with Bristol Achieve, a mentoring program for year 7 and 8 pupils in areas of multiple deprivation to gain a lifelong love of reading for pleasure, with some English and STEM skills along the way.
