Her research examines how implicit Classical reception functions in explicitly non-Classical or mythological video games through a transmedia adaptation lens. Using The Last of Us franchise as a case study, she employs interdisciplinary methods that combine textual analysis with visual and interactive analysis to study how implicit reception inspires, is portrayed, and is understood within transmedia systems. She is also interested in understanding how paratexts affect the reception of transmedia franchises and how Classical narrative structures implicitly influence games via the development process.
