Research interests
I'm an academic vascular registrar with a research interest in perioperative optimisation in major arterial surgery, having previously completed the Academic Foundation Programme (AFP) and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship (ACF). My work has contributed to international clinical practice guidelines and national research priority setting.
I was awarded an NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship (DRF) from 2025-2028 to investigate how best to select patients for intensive care admission following major vascular surgery. The research will address national research priorities identified in vascular surgery, anaesthesia, and intensive care; as well as using novel advanced statistical methodologies to further the use of real world evidence and registry data in clinical research.
I am an editorial board member for the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (EJVES), which is the highest impact Vascular Surgery journal (2024 IF 6.8). I received the national Association Surgeons in Training (ASiT) Silver Suture Award 2025 in recognition of delivering outstanding training as a surgical trainee.
