Research interests
Kim’s research interests centre around Public Health and Epidemiology, with an emphasis on maternal, fetal and child health, particularly in the context of physical activity. She has worked on observational studies as well as trials and has experience in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, in addition to management of complex multicentre studies.
Kim is currently the Trial Manager for the NAP SACC UK study within the Centre for Public Health at the University of Bristol. The NAP SACC UK study is a multicentre cluster randomised controlled trial to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of an environmental nutrition and physical activity intervention in nurseries- Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment for Child Care (https://napsaccuk.blogs.bristol.ac.uk/).
She completed her 4-year MRC funded Epidemiology PhD in 2013 from the School of Medicine at the University of Manchester. Her PhD explored the effects of air pollution on perinatal outcomes in England. Prior to this, Kim was awarded a 1st Class BSc in Medical Sciences and Humanities.
Kim has previously worked as a Senior Research Associate within Translational Health Sciences coordinating a large multicentre Physical Activity and Musculoskeletal Health study (VIBE). She has experience of Undergraduate and Masters teaching within the University of Bristol.
