Research interests
I am working as a PhD researcher in the Technology, Democracy, and Cognition (TeDCog) group supervised by Professor Stephan Lewandowsky on the PRODEMINFO project, which is funded by ERC.
Prior to this, I worked in the Council of Europe’s Youth Department supporting non-governmental youth organisations in organising non-formal educational activities across the Council of Europe member states. Before that, I gained experience as a Research Assistant at University of Bath’s Tobacco Control Research Group (TCRG) investigating the impact of tobacco industry on policymaking, specifically through shaping public opinion on Twitter. I have also assisted Dr Michael J Wood at University of Winchester in a project examining the propagation of conspiracy theories online surrounding the outbreak of the Zika -virus in 2015-2016.
My research interests are understanding the antecedents of distrust in science, the effects of misinformation and disinformation at a societal level and how to combat their harmful consequences. I am also passionate about open and transparent science and interested in its effects on public opinion of scientific findings.
