Biography
Kerrie joined the University in 2002, initially based in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. During this time, she held roles in undergraduate admissions and programme coordination, contributing to both the recruitment and support of students. She later transitioned into finance research support roles, where she developed an understanding of research funding processes and financial management within the academic environment.
In 2011, Kerrie joined the Research Development Team based within Research, Enterprise and Development (RED, now known as DREI - Division of Research, Enterprise and Innovation) where she has held a variety of roles supporting research across the breadth of the University. In 2018, she was appointed Research Development Manager for the Faculty of Engineering, working in partenrship with academic colleagues as well as other stakeholders to enhance UK research funding bids, support strategic activities and develop and deliver training. She became Head of Research Development (UK) in late 2022, leading efforts to grow and diversify the University's UK research funding portfolio and strategic partnerships.
