Biography
Kerrie joined the University of Bristol in 2002, initially based in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. Through a range of roles, she developed broad experience spanning undergraduate admissions, programme coordination and research finance, building a strong understanding of both the student lifecycle and research funding environment.
In 2011, Kerrie joined the Research Development Team within Research, Enterprise and Development (RED, now the Division of Research, Enterprise and Innovation – DREI), where she has held a variety of research development roles supporting activity across the University. In 2018, she was appointed Research Development Manager for the Faculty of Engineering, working in close partnership with academic colleagues and professional services to strengthen UK research funding bids, support strategic initiatives, and design and deliver researcher development activity. She became Head of Research Development (UK) in late 2022, leading a team that provides expert guidance on securing UK research funding, supports the University’s and Divisional ambitions to grow research income, and maintains strong relationships with key UK funders, particularly the UK Research Councils.
