Biography
After completing my PhD on fibre optic sensors in carbon fibre composites in Dec 2002, I began working as a UoB researcher in the Brsitol Composite Group on mulitfunctional composites.
Following a few years working on research I moved to research support and into labratory and equipment support, helping procure several large peices of equipment and improve many of the data anaylsis setups within the group. This lead into management and a responsbility for safety and good practise.
An opportunity came to take the safety improvements and good practise to a Faculty level with my current role.
I have completed my NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and my NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety.
I continue to improve my safety knowledge to help ensuring the various and wide ranging activities that the Faculty of Engineering are involved in are completed in safe and secure way.
