Teaching
My big current project is developing the workshops half of the Mathematical Investigations unit, which is designed to help students learn study skills such as group work and reading and writing maths. The balance between interesting maths and not-too-difficult is, as ever, an on-going work in progress, but one we're starting to get a decent handle on. By gradually giving fewer and fewer steps we are also encouraging the students developing their ability to approach problems and work out how best to proceed.
I am interested in maths education, and am currently waiting to run a conference on how to begin this, where I hope to have speakers in to discuss topics such as where to submit papers and how to do ethic reviews.
