Biography
I graduated from Bristol Veterinary School in 2008, following which I spent a few years in First Opinion Small Animal Practice, before pursuing specialist clinical training in Small Animal Medicine, becoming a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Recognised and European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2016. Subsequently I spent time in both private clinical referral practice and remote consultancy, before returning to Bristol as a Lecturer, in 2018.
My current role is largely focussed towards the training and support of both undergraduate veterinary and veterinary nursing students in addition to postgraduate students in specialist training positions.
My current research interests are related to canine respiratory disease and also pedagogical, focussing on enhancing the student experience.
Teaching
I teach subjects allied with Small Animal Internal Medicine, across our veterinary and veterinary nursing programmes, with a focus on clinical teaching, encompassing hepatology, gastroenterology, nephrology and urology and canine, feline and imported infectious diseases. In addition to provision of theoretical teaching, 40% of my time is dedicated to clinical work and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students, during their clinical rotations, within our teaching hopsital; supporting their development in management of cats and dogs presenting with a range of complaints relating to Internal Medicine.
