Biography
My background is in science communication, creative events production, and public audiences. I have a degree in Natural Sciences and an MSc in Science Communication.
I first started out making television documentaries (including at the BBC) before discovering the joys of live events. I have created events about the intersection of medicine and art at Wellcome Collection in London, and most recently ran the public events programme - including talks, open days, festivals, film screenings and art-science workshops - at the Francis Crick Institute, a biomedical research centre and Europe's biggest lab under one roof. I also delivered training for the Crick's 1200 researchers and supported them with funding applications, which I really enjoyed and which led me to my current role working with academics at Bristol.
I am also part of Guerilla Science, who work with researchers and artists to create playful, immersive experiences at music festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, Shambala and Secret Garden Party.
My creative sideline is performing science storytelling for preschool children. These interactive sessions are a mix of well known songs, stories and simple experiments. I've performed these at festivals, museums and even a shopping centre! I'll be popping up at Glastonbury Festival this summer.
