Biography
Research interests
Jason has two main areas of research:
- Developing and improving helping services' support of LGBTQ+ people, predominantly social care and young people.
- Improving the understanding, critical application of, and participation in research by the social care sector and professionals.
He uses a range of methods including systematic reviews, qualitative and mixed methods, surveys and trials. He has developed innovative participatory methods to include the contribution of people often missing from research co-production.
He is connected to several interanational groups of researchers linked to his topics including INQYR (intnerational network for queer youth resilience), Sexuality and Social Work Interest Group, and Growing Up Trans. These long-term collaborations have been developed over his career and include researchers from Europe, the Americas, and Australasia.
Jason is a member of the NIHR Health Technology and Assessment funding committee, the NIHR EDI group, and the Evidence Synthesis Group (formerly Campbell Collaboration).
