Research interests
I am interested in the use of biogenic carbonates as paleoclimate proxies. I am currently researching the relationship between the trace element composition of modern Stylasterid corals and their respective ambient hydrographic conditions. I aim to better understand these relationships so that they may be applied to fossil Stylasterids to reconstruct past ocean conditions. Additionally, I am investigating the influence of hydrographic parameters on Stylasterid mineralogy in order to further our understanding of biomineralization and the impact of ocean acidification/warming on Stylasterid corals.
