Dr Esmaeel Masoudi
BSc, MSc, PhD
Expertise
My work is grounded in fluid mechanics, focusing on how unsteady flows behave. I study unsteady aerodynamics and flow-induced noise, with a focus on turbulence, vortex dynamics, and noise-generation mechanisms.
Current positions
Lecturer in Aeroacoustics
School of Civil, Aerospace and Design Engineering

Biography
Dr. Masoudi is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Aeroacoustics at the University of Bristol. His research lies at the intersection of unsteady aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, and fluid mechanics, with a focus on sustainable and emerging technologies such as wind energy, urban air mobility, and energy harvesting systems.
Dr Masoudi’s work combines both experimental and numerical methods to investigate turbulence, vortical structures, and flow-induced noise. He actively collaborates with UK and EU research institutions to address real-world engineering challenges and support the development of quieter, more efficient renewable technologies.
Dr Masoudi is accepting PhD students and postdoctoral research fellows all year around. Please contact if you are intrested in pursuing a PhD or a postdoc project.
