Research interests
My research involves applying analytical chemistry techniques to elucidate the roles of microbes in environmental nutrient cycles. I am currently working on the Leverhulme funded project 'Determination of mechanistic controls on microbial organic nitrogen biosynthesis and transformations in natural and agrarian environments'.
My PhD research focussed on fungi in marine environments, and sought to investigate how different growth conditions impact their production of signature lipids, alongside whether lipid biomarkers or eDNA can provide a better understanding of fungal biomass dynamics in marine sediments.
