Research interests

My former research interests were in the field of Medieval Studies and included:
- Intellectual history of the high and late Middle Ages,
- Medieval reception of the Latin Classics,
- Medieval biblical and literary exegesis,
- Attitudes to the past and the study of ancient history in the Middle Ages,
- Questions of historical periodisation (specifically the 'medieval-Renaissance divide').
