Research interests
My research considers negotiations of history, nostalgia and memory in contemporary television. I focus mainly on drama, although my research extends to other fiction and non-fiction genres. I am particularly interested in intersections between self-reflexive, irreverent and participatory ways of engaging with the past and new methods for producing and distributing television in the multi-platform era, both of which have been facilitated by the proliferation of digital technologies.
I am currently working on a monograph, Retrospective Television: Contemporary Quality Drama's Past Worlds, for Palgrave Macmillan.
